DCHS Update – Closure for Roof Restoration & Scarecrow Contest Extended

Thank you all your for your flexibility during the roof restoration project! We have a couple big updates on extending the scarecrow contest deadline and further closures.

We can’t wait for you to drop off your scarecrows for DCHS’s — Annual Scarecrow Contest at the Knute Nelson House, but save your tires from puncture during the restoration of our roof by following these easy directions!

1. Please, please do not pull into our parking lots until we have had a chance to clear all roofing debris–including 100s of NAILS–from the site! DON’T PUNCTURE YOUR TIRES!

2. Feel free to park safely across the street at Knute Nelson as you are dropping off your scarecrow. Please be very cautious when crossing through traffic on Nokomis Street.

3. Attach your scarecrow entry to any available fence post anytime between now and noon on Monday!

4. Don’t forget to email the following info to historic@dchsmn.org so we can ensure you get proper credit for your scarecrow.
